The Shrew is a very lively funny story with much action and activity: the playing of a joke on a drunk by a lord supported by a troupe of visiting actors; the fiery courtship of Petruchio and Katherina who fight and scrap until eventually she admits her love and obedience for him as a true partner in marriage, and the courtship of Bianca by three men involving disguises, mistaken identities and comic routines.
