ReAct NOW for the new season!

We are pleased to announce a further occasional series of rehearsed readings.

If you are interested in live theatre but find it expensive to attend all the plays you'd like to, or if you are studying literature and need to familiarise yourself with a wide range of genres, or if you'd just like some regular entertainment, then come and join our audience.

Each play has a unique Arranger. It is their job to familiarise themselves with the play, gather a troupe of actors from those volunteering, arrange props, scripts, sound etc. and have at most a couple of rehearsals.

What the audience see is the result of this preparation - a taste of the excitement of a production.

Interested in being involved? Then sign up in the Book!

Each play has a page detailing the play and a space for you to express an interest. About a month before the reading each play's Arranger will take the sheet and contact all volunteers, offering a part where possible, apologising if it's over-subscribed. There's no need to be a member of MDG, and Arrangers are encouraged to use new faces whereever possible.

We're always looking for new people. If you've always wanted to get involved with live theatre, contact us on 01628 635017. At every ReAct you will find a book detailing future playreadings, where you can sign to indicate your interest in a particular play. The Arranger will contact you a few weeks before the playreading, when they make their plans.

How do I sign up?

Well, the simplest and best way is to come to a reading and introduce yourself to Anne and Carol, the ReAct Co-ordinators. Alternatively, you can look at the pages here and sign up by email to react@themdg.fsnet.co.uk. (All emails will be acknowledged, and then you will be contacted later by the Arranger, as above.)

When emailing us, please remember to tell us which play(s) you are interested in, your name and preferably phone number so that an Arranger can contact you, and your approximate "playing age" (i.e. what age -range you could realistically play, rather than your actual age).
