About The Play

“It was not a goal. That’s all there is to understand.”

Devastated that a dodgy refereeing decision has condemned their team to relegation, Cliff and Degsy seek retribution by abducting the referee in question. Their half-baked plan becomes increasingly difficult when an ex-girlfriend, a television set, and God, all get in the way. The characters lead us through this tale of loyalties and injustice as we watch to see if anyone can stand between Degsy and a rematch!

Drama Festival

Maidenhead Drama Festival is the first round of the All-England Drama Festival (AETF), which consists of a variety of one-act plays presented by local amateur adult and schools groups.

The Final of the AETF will also take place at Norden Farm this year, on Saturday 5th June 2004.
